Merriweather Post Pavilion

See a big music concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion during the summer season while you are in Columbia, Maryland. This is a large venue that seats more than 19,000 people and has been in operation since 1967 and underwent a renovation project in 2016.

Co-designed by Frank Gehry, this distinctive venue is noted for its large modernist body. It offers brilliant acoustics and a fine seating area that offers a number of brilliant views of any show.

The venue has hosted many different great artists over the years although Jimmy Buffett has played here more than any other artist. The famed songwriter has played here more than forty times over the years.

The National Symphony Orchestra also performs at the Merriweather Post Pavilion during parts of the summer season. The orchestra uses this place in Columbia, MD as a summer home for many of its most popular seasonal shows. The venue has traditional seated areas as well as a large lawn for relaxing during one of the many shows held here.
